How it all started
Festival of Fun first started with a single branch as an
established joke shop on the corner of Eastborough in Scarborough, trading
for over 20 years.
1996 Miss Jackson, bought the Scarborough premises and continued
the well established joke shop business.
1997 Formation of a Business Partnership between Brother (Mr.
M Jackson) and Sister. 1st issue mail-order magic catalogue printed
1998 Miss Jackson sold her half of the partnership to Mr Jackson,
and created a new store in Blackpool. 2nd issue magic catalogue printed
1999 Before the new Millennium, Mr Jackson opened the door to
a new shop in York. New 3rd issue magic catalogue printed
2000 After a successful party season, the 1st floor was opened
in the York store. Creating more choice of wigs, masks, eye masks, costumes
and accessories.
2001 2nd floor opened in York store. Providing costume hire with
over 200 costumes available. 4th issue magic catalogue printed
2002 York store expands its costume hire to offer over 350 costumes.
5th issue magic catalogue printed
2003 Magic studio in Scarborough is refurbished. Better display
cabinets and lighting installed. 6th issue magic catalogue printed
2004 York store refurbishes its ground floor and expands its
costume hire to offer over 500 costumes.
2005 www.festivaloffun.com & www.nearmiraclesmagic.com
are launched with e-comerce facilities. Providing a large range of fancy
dress & magic on-line. 11th issue magic catalogue printed.
2008 Sheffield branch is opened!! Grand lanch with freebies and
refreshments! Hang-overs next morning!!
